Forced Labor
Forced labor was among the first antisemitic measures introduced in the Independent State of Croatia. Already in mid-April 1941, individual Jews were required to report for compulsory labor; a requirement that was extended to the entire Jewish community the following month. The tasks assigned were often taxing and physically demanding, encompassing activities such as moving heavy objects and street cleaning. At the same time, forced labor was an integral part of daily life for prisoners in concentration camps.
